Our "Why Story"

In March of 2023, I brought home a chocolate lab named Moose, hoping he would be a best friend for our family dog, Chase. I never imagined that Moose would so quickly become the love of my life. Through him, I discovered a kind of joy and companionship that runs deeper than words—the pure trust, the unspoken bond, and the incredible connection that can exist between a dog and a human.

Watching Moose and Chase grow together was its own kind of magic. Two sweet boy labs, side by side, bringing laughter, comfort, and so much love into our home. Wanting to give them the very best opened my eyes to how much a dog’s comfort, quality of life, and well-being truly matter. What began as love became a passion… and that passion became my calling.

Moose inspired me to become a dog groomer. Every skill I’ve learned, every client I’ve served, and every dog I’ve cared for traces back to him. He was the reason I dreamed bigger.

But on October 14, 2025—just two weeks after opening Ruff Life Grooming Salon—I had to say goodbye to him far too soon. Unexpectedly, I had to put him to rest and send him to the dog park in heaven. Moose was only a year and a half old when cancer took him from us.

Even though he’s gone, Moose’s spirit lives on in everything I do. This business exists because of him, and it continues in his honor. Every dog who walks through my doors is treated with the same patience, kindness, and love that Moose gave me.

I wouldn’t be here without him—and I will carry him with me forever.
